Preliminary Research Findings

In addition to the published findings from the University of Exeter human clinical study, researchers conducted a series of exploratory analyses to investigate whether the broad biological effects of DailyColours® may extend into other important aspects of healthy ageing. These early observations include sleep quality, healthy muscle ageing (sarcopenia), mood and emotional wellbeing, and epigenetic memory age.

These analyses were not primary endpoints of the clinical trial and, in some cases, have not yet undergone peer review. While the findings are encouraging and biologically consistent with the published cognitive, physical, and proteomic benefits observed in the Exeter study, they should be considered preliminary and hypothesis-generating. Further clinical research will be required to confirm these observations, better understand the underlying biological mechanisms, and determine their long-term significance.

Sleep Quality

Exploring the Role of DailyColours® in Restorative Sleep

Quality sleep is one of the foundations of healthy ageing. During sleep, the body repairs tissues, consolidates memories, regulates immune function, and restores metabolic balance. Poor sleep has been associated with accelerated biological ageing, chronic inflammation, cognitive decline, and reduced physical performance.

What Have We Observed?

Exploratory analyses using network proteomics from the University of Exeter study have identified encouraging trends suggesting that participants receiving DailyColours® may experience improvements in measures of sleep quality and restorative sleep, falling asleep faster and sleeping more soundly. These observations remain preliminary and were not included among the primary published outcomes of the clinical trial.

Mood and Emotional Wellbeing

Healthy ageing is about more than physical health. Emotional wellbeing, resilience, and positive mood contribute significantly to quality of life, cognitive function, and overall health. Increasing evidence suggests that nutrition, inflammation, and the gut–brain axis all play important roles in emotional wellbeing.

What Have We Observed?

Exploratory analyses from the University of Exeter clinical study suggest encouraging trends toward improvements in measures of mood and emotional wellbeing among participants receiving DailyColours™. These findings are preliminary, have not yet undergone peer review, and should be considered hypothesis-generating rather than definitive clinical outcomes.

Epigenetic Memory Age

Exploring Biological Markers of Healthy Ageing

Chronological age measures how many years we have lived. Biological age attempts to measure how our bodies are actually ageing at the cellular level. One of the most exciting developments in longevity science is the use of epigenetic clocks, which estimate biological ageing by measuring changes in DNA methylation.

What Have We Observed?

Using the Muhdo Health biological clock preliminary findings suggest an average reduction in epigenetic memory age of approximately 3.77 years among participants receiving DailyColours® for 60 days. These findings align with the significant improvements in cognitive health which were published.

These findings are preliminary, have not yet undergone peer review, and were not included among the published primary outcomes of the Exeter study. They should therefore be considered exploratory and hypothesis-generating.

Healthy Muscle Ageing (Sarcopenia)

Supporting Strength Throughout Healthy Ageing

Age-related loss of muscle mass and strength, known as sarcopenia, is one of the leading causes of reduced mobility and loss of independence in older adults. Maintaining muscle health is therefore a critical component of healthy ageing.

What Have We Observed?

Preliminary analyses suggest that the favourable changes observed in physical performance and proteomic pathways may also be relevant to mechanisms involved in healthy muscle ageing. These observations remain exploratory and have not yet been reported as published clinical outcomes.

Why Is This Important?

Taken together, these preliminary findings suggest that the broad, multi-pathway biological effects of DailyColours® may extend beyond the published improvements in cognitive function, physical performance, and proteomic pathways. The encouraging data across multiple domains of healthy ageing is consistent with the systems biology principles underlying both the Mediterranean Diet and the DailyColours® formulation.
